SOCKS and SSHOES (dynamic port forwarding with SSH)

2010/02/01

If you’ve got a host set up in your .ssh/config, with ‘ForwardAgent yes’ and your remote SSH server has ‘X11Forwarding yes’ in the sshd_config, you’ve got a dynamic socks4/socks5 proxy at your fingertips with ssh -D [local port, eg 8080] [remote machine]

Have fun with that.
